Federal legislation, also introduced as “The Jessica Lunsford Act,” would require GPS-enabled ankle bracelets for sex offenders who do not respond to mailers checking that they are still at the addresses listed in sex offender registries. http://www.cnn.com

A major study by the Institute for American Values in today’s Washington Times found that most mothers, regardless of whether they work or stay at home, are dedicated to their children but fear popular culture is undermining their efforts to raise children with "positive values," according to the study of more than 2,000 mothers. http://www.washingtontimes.com The study found "no significant evidence" to support what the popular media sometimes refer to as the "mommy wars," in which mothers in the work force are at odds with mothers who stay home. Most of the mothers worked -- 41 percent full time and 21 percent part time. But the strongest preferences either were to work part time or from home. The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that psychologists can report child abuse confessions to law enforcement authorities . http://www.waff.com The attorney who represented the psychologists says it's an obligation on the part of the psychologist to report pursuant to child abuse reporting laws in Alabama.
