California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the so-called “Pedophile Protection Act” gutting the state’s mandatory reporting law with respect to child sexual abuse. http://www.worldnetdaily.com The Governor bowed to pressure from groups who knowingly flouted the mandatory reporting law, like Planned Parenthood which treated girls as young as six for sexually transmitted diseases without ever having reported a single case of suspected abuse. A tornado spawned by Hurricane Ivan literally blew the roof off a Frederick, MD man’s child pornography collection. http://www.nbc4.com The state’s attorney called the collection the largest he had ever seen. The pile of porn filled a pickup truck and contained pictures of children as young as six engaged in various sexual activities.
Usually this headline is used to point out clergy abuse that exists in other denominations, but today we’re highlighting sexual abuse by nuns. As the Leadership Conference of Religious Women, a largest consortium of Catholic nuns gets underway in Chicago, a group of abuse victims and their advocates will meet with the nuns’ leadership. http://www.ctnow.com
