Amber alerts go high tech...
This morning's Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports on new technology debuting in 12 states to bring Amber alerts to cell phones and email, in addition to the traffic signs where they already appear. http://tinyurl.com/4p9tt According to Chris Warner, president of E2C in Scottsdale, Ariz., which led the system's development, "the goal of this is to make it so pervasive, no one will be stupid enough to take a child."

More on educator abuse...
In the last few weeks we've highlighted a new Department of Education report that states as many as 4.5 million children are victims of unwanted sexual advances by school employees. Finally, in Pennsylvania, Governor Ed Rendell signed legislation which will remove pension benefits for teachers convicted of sex crimes against students. http://tinyurl.com/47om7
