As if this fall's debut of a movie glorifying pedophile sex researcher
Alfred Kinsey weren't enough, Nicole Kidman's latest movie, "Birth,"
features a kiss with a ten-year-old boy, and a scene in which they
both disrobe to bathe together. http://www.yourmovies.com.au
Even Hollywierd film executives were taken aback by this movie.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Vatican officials have been aware
of sexual abuse scandals involving priests for 1700 years. http://www.freerepublic.com
A North Carolina priest and two former monks have compiled a 375-page
report, "Canonical History of Clerical Sexual Abuse." This
is where we usually say that these problems are not unique to the
Catholic Church. While it is undoubtedly true that similar problems
exist in most denominations, and probably even happened 1700 years
ago, we would be surprised to learn that records exist to document
it.
The American Prosecutors Research Institute (APRI) and the National
District Attorneys Association (NDAA) have teamed up to provide a
complete state-by-state listing of child abuse statutes at http://www.ndaa-apri.org.
The compilation includes statutes related to sexual offenses (Download

PDF), and child endangerment (Download
PDF) among others.
In last week's issue we talked about a U.S. Department of Education
report that found that 10% of American public school students are
targets of unwanted sexual advances, often by their teachers. (Read
Here) As if to prove the point, this week a Florida teacher was
arrested for having sex with a 14 year old student. http://www.local10.com
George Soros' 100 million dollar effort to unseat President Bush,
called "America Coming Together," has come under fire for
hiring convicted felons, including sex offenders, to knock on doors
in an effort to boost voter turn out for John Kerry. http://www.nypost.com
Convicted felons can vote in Presidential elections.
