Usually when you see this heading, we're letting you know about
a clergy sex abuse scandal in yet another denomination. This time
we're still talking about the Catholic Church, but it's nuns accused
of the abuse. READ
ARTICLE HERE Nine students, three women and six men, have sued
at least 13 nuns. The plaintiff's attorney claims to represent 31
victims from the now-defunct Boston School for the Deaf.
In what was clearly not a good week for the hierarchy of the Catholic
Church, the National Review Board, the independent body set up by
the Catholic Church to oversee the Church's response to the abuse
scandal, accused Catholic prelates of stalling efforts to protect

ARTICLE HERE The Board's Chair, Anne M. Burke, an Illinois Appellate
Court justice, blames bishops for taking a "business-as-usual"
approach as the clerical sexual-abuse scandal faded from headlines,
and claimed bishops had "manipulated" the board and denied
it information on future monitoring.
Toys-R-Us, the chain store we began boycotting last fall for selling

) announced quarterly losses of $28 million. We guess the porn profits
aren't as high after Christmas.
A new study shows that youth and young adults account for two-thirds
of all Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's). READ

reported that nearly half of all STD cases are to teens, and that
an astounding 88% of diagnoses of human papillomavirus, trichomoniasis

Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH), Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ), and Rep. Kevin
Brady (R-TX) introduced a crime victims' rights bill (H.R. 4342),
which would allow crime victims to confront their assailants in
court and at sentence or parole hearings; require that victims be
notified about the release or escape of a perpetrator from custody;
require that victims' safety be considered in determining a release
from custody; and guarantee the right for victims to seek restitution
from their attackers. READ
