| The Child Protection eNewsletter ACLU represents NAMBLA The American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts is representing the North American Man/Boy Love Association in the civil wrongful death case of ten year old Jeffrey Curley who was brutally killed and raped by two NAMBLA members. We recently told you about Microsoft's decision to close its internet chat rooms because of the number of child predators using them to strike up conversations with children. Microsoft is in the news again as they respond to a desperate e-mail plea from a Toronto cop to Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates. After a particularly rough day, Paul Gillespie asked Gates for help to try and stop the internet spread of child pornography. He didn't expect to ever hear back. Not only did Microsoft call to discuss his email, but they have already spent $500,000 developing software to help track similarities in child pornography. Microsoft is developing the software on "open standard" so that it can be easily adapted to any software other law enforcement units may be using. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,99527,00.html In other news… A new study showed that sexually active 14 to 17 year old girls were three times more likely to be depressed and three times more likely to attempt suicide than their non-sexually active counterparts. The study found a similar, but not as strong correlation among boys. http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/10/62003e.asp The study unfortunately did not separate sexually abused children from those who were sexually active but not abused. Pedophile apologist Professor Elizabeth Loftus, who made a name for herself at the University of Washington in her never-ending fight to discredit recovered memories and undermine any attempt by survivors of abuse has been sued by the subject of a colleague's case study. Since Loftus was convinced no abuse ever takes place, she befriended the mother in the case study in an effort to "reunite" the mother and daughter. The University of Washington insisted Professor Loftus take an ethics class, and she instead skipped town for the University of California, Irvine.
