| The Child Protection eNewsletter In Focus: Homosexual pedophiles prey on our children. The ongoing scandal in the Catholic Church and the Boston Archdiocese's recent $85 million dollar settlement with men who were abused as boys by priests has put the issue of homosexual pedophiles on the front page of American newspapers. (story1) This issue raises several interesting questions. First, why are substantially all of the victims boys? It should probably be pointed out that priests have abused girls. Our organization was founded by a woman who was sexually abused by a priest while in pre-school. But over 95% of the reported cases have been of priests abusing boys. Are homosexuals attracted to the priesthood? Or are homosexuals more likely to abuse children? The sad truth of the matter is that the answer to both questions is probably yes. The Catholic Church has had a long history opposing homosexual activity, indeed, all sexual activity outside of marriage. In fact, just this week the Catholic Church came out in favor of a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between one man and one woman (story2). It is possible that the vow of celibacy has attracted gay men who want to abstain to the priesthood. There has been much speculation, but little scientific evidence to support this. (story3). There is much evidence, however, to suggest that homosexual pedophiles commit crimes against children at a much higher rate than heterosexual ones. Homosexuals are 1.5-3.0% of the male population yet homosexual pedophiles commit up to 1/3 of all the crimes against children, a rate 15 to 30 times that of their heterosexual counterparts. (story4) In fact, the now infamous Kinsey sex study (story5) that estimated homosexuals at as much as 10% of the population did so, primarily, because it used pedophiles as its subjects. (story6) Action Item of the week What is truly sad is that there are organized pedophiles; a group called the "North American Man/Boy Love Association" works to encourage and legalize homosexual pedophilia. I warn you, the faint of heart should not visit their site (link1). What is even sadder is that respectable groups allow themselves to buy in to this preposterous idea. This brings us to this week's action item. NAMBLA, the North American Man-Boy Love Association, has a magazine to "celebrate boy-lovers". You can order it right on Amazon.com's web page (link2). Respectable companies do not promote sex crimes against children. Please take the time to sign our petition demanding thatAmazon.com stop marketing this trash! (link3) In other news A federal court struck down Missouri's mandatory child abuse reporting law for health care workers. This could have a chilling effect on states who have undertaken efforts to force Planned Parenthood to underage pregnancies caused by adults. (story7) Two Wisconsin fourteen year olds have gone to court seeking what their lawyer claims is their legal right to have sex. (story8) Schools that allow groups that use "Gay Mentors" access to students have been warned by Alliance Defense Fund that they face "serious legal consequences" for allowing such access to students. Apparently groups like Big Brothers and Big Sisters that pair unsuspecting students with homosexual mentors fail to make parents aware of the policy. (story9). This would explain why such groups are having such difficulty obtaining any insurance.
